The bone-chilling streets of Midtown Manhattan and Chicago’s Magnificent Mile are no match for the Down With It Parka. The shell is made from 100% recycled polyester plain weave treated with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish and insulated with 100% Recycled Down (600-fill-power down that comes from duck and goose down that has been reclaimed from down products). The wide baffles and diagonal seams this season allow for a warm, contoured fit. The insulated hood is removable and a wind flap conceals the 2-way front zip. Welted, on-seam handwarmer pockets have zip closures. Knee length.

Warm and functional
Like almost all Patagonia products, this parka is extremely functional. It’s lightweight, comfortable and extremely warm—perfect for NYC where we spend a lot of time walking in the cold and wind. The eggplant color is not my first choice, but the sale price is unbeatable and I love to support a small business full of women, even if from afar.
Excellent Purchase
NOTE: I usually wear a size small, but sized up to a Medium based on other shoppers' suggestions; it is a perfect fit. After shopping around online for a good quality knee-length purple jacket, I landed on this one and I couldn't turn down the great deal this site was offering! I received it promptly and the jacket is exactly as I hoped for! This jacket is high quality. Some reviews mentioned the sleeves being short, but I don't have that problem, the sleeves fit great, better than expected. This jacket is warm and great for taking my daily walks in. The knee length doesn't inhibit movement or stride while walking.

Great Investment & Experience
After going back and forth between purchasing another Eddie Bauer parka and the Down With It, I couldn't pass up the sale that Platte River Fly Shop was offering. I'm so glad I took the plunge! They were so wonderful to shop with, and my parka shipped the same day and arrived cross-country in 2 days! I've been wearing it for a bout a week, and I love the warmth, the tailored cut as well as other features. I purchased the medium in black. I am 6' tall and 133# and always purchase medium in Patagonia (for more length overall and in sleeves). I will say unfortunately the sleeves seem a little shorter than my other medium Patagonia jackets. I also wish there were cuffs inside the sleeves to keep my wrists/arms warm, but these complaints aren't a deal breaker. Love Patagonia and would order again from Platte River!
Very Warm Coat - Minimal Bulk
I am frequently outdoors in our harsh Minnesota winters and have been looking for some time for a super warm, knee-length coat that didn't make me look like the marshmallow man. While this coat has some loft to it, the cut and more shaped form are very flattering, while still allowing for movement. I'm very happy with the warmth it provides with minimal bulk.
