TYING INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE BIONIC MIDGE
Hook: Dairiki #60 size 18-22
Thread: Black, Brown, or Cream UTC 70
Butt: A very small amount of pearl, rootbeer, or hot Orange krystal flash
Abdomen: Thread body ribbed with copper, gold or silver extra fine wire
Thorax: Black, Brown or cream fine and dry dubbing
Wingpads: Krystal Flash
Hook: Dairiki #60 size 18-22
Thread: Black, Brown, or Cream UTC 70
Butt: A very small amount of pearl, rootbeer, or hot Orange krystal flash
Abdomen: Thread body ribbed with copper, gold or silver extra fine wire
Thorax: Black, Brown or cream fine and dry dubbing
Wingpads: Krystal flash
1) Start thread and wrap back to bend
2) Tie in two pieces of krystal flash and make a small butt. Then wrap these same two pieces forward to the 1/3 point on hook shank….they will be used for the wingpads
3) Bring thread back to the rear and tie in extra small wire at the and then form abdomen with thread. Palmer wire forward forming segmentation.
4) Keeping two pieces of krystal flash back form thorax with fine and dry dubbing. Then pull on strand of krystal flash down each side of the bug to from wingpads on the sides.
5) Whip finish
