Simms G4 Pro Wader General Information
GORE-TEX Wader Care:
The #1 tip to prolonging the life of a wader is drying your waders. It is important to dry your waders out after each use. We recommend drying the inside first (if damp) and then the outside. When drying the outside you can pull your gravel guards up until the feet are dry and then flip them down to dry the rest of the wader
Washing - Use a front load machine or hand wash. Use cold water and normal detergent that does not contain bleach. Once you have washed the waders make sure you dry them properly start by drying the inside first. Never put your waders in the dryer, the heat will adversely affect the seam tape on your waders and will void your warranty.
Fit - We offer more sizes than anyone, a good fit goes a long way to extending the life of your wader. Make it clear that people should use their exact measurements as we have already provided extra room for layering and movement.
General Care - Do not store inside your car for long periods of time excess heat will damage your waders.
Use A Mat - Always put your waders on using a protective mat to shield the neoprene feet from rocks. The Headwaters gear bag for example has a pull out mat that works great for this.
Proper Layering - Do not wear jeans under your waders. Jeans are highly abrasive wearing on your waders from the inside out. More importantly jeans and sweatpants do not transfer moisture away from the body. Use proper Simms layering. Using layers such as these will help wick moisture away from your body and assist in the waders ability to breathe.
Stains - most stain removers will work fine on our waders. As long as the stain remover does not contain bleach you should be o.k.
THE BEST WARRANTY IN THE WADER BUSINESS We stand behind our waders for the useful life of the product. This will vary based on use and the style of wader. For instance, professional guides will use their waders as work-wear every day and will likely wear out their waders faster than a casual angler who might sh 20 days per year. The Simms warranty does not cover damages caused by improper care, accidents, or the natural breakdown of materials over extended use and time. Waders that fail due to workmanship or material defect can be replaced or repaired. All defective or damaged products should be returned to Simms for evaluation and will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of Simms. 30 DAY EXCHANGE – NO QUESTIONS ASKED If a wader leaks within 30 days of purchase please replace them over the counter and we will send a replacement for your inventory. About Simms is a fishing company.Founded on the pillars of innovation we strive to build the highest quality products to keep anglers dry, comfortable, and protected from the elements - no matter the conditions.
The company was the brainchild of visionary angler John Simms who saw a need to develop better waders and accessories than what was then available on the market. That quest led to the development of Simms Fishing Products in 1980. During that era, Simms was one of the first companies worldwide to introduce neoprene waders, which provided enhanced warmth and waterproofing gear for serious anglers pushing the limits of their fishing pursuits.
In 1993, current owner, K.C. Walsh, a passionate angler and entrepreneur, acquired the company and relocated it to Bozeman. Under Walsh’s leadership, Simms introduced breathable waders in a trailblazing partnership with W.L. Gore & Associates (makers of GORE-TEX® fabric).
With staunch commitment to U.S.-based manufacturing and business ideals, Simms cemented its Bozeman roots in 2012 with a new 60,000-square-foot facility housing corporate headquarters, warehouses, and its production facility. This expansion provides elbowroom to drive product innovation and solidifies Simms as the sole fishing wader manufacturer in the USA.
Today, Simms continues to take the fishing market by storm with a trained eye on fisheries conservation and inspired product development of the world's premier technical fishing apparel, footwear, and equipment.
